ABOUT US
Building a stronger Connecticut, one Black-owned business at a time.
Founded in 2007, the Southern Connecticut Black Chamber of Commerce is Fairfield County’s first regional Black Chamber of Commerce. Built on the principle of “Bridging the Gap,” we believe in taking a regional approach to addressing the issues affecting minority-owned businesses.
Our first successful initiative was the Minority Business Enterprise Certification Program. To date, our certified businesses have been awarded well over $4.3 million in contracts with the City of Bridgeport and other private organizations.

We are dedicated to the economic empowerment of Connecticut’s Minority Business Enterprises. The Southern Connecticut Black Chamber of Commerce (SCBCC) shall educate, advocate, and enhance the economic status of small and minority-owned businesses while “Bridging the Gap” between entrepreneurs and mainstream businesses.
Consolidation
Partners with existing organizations to connect members with available small-business resources.
Education
Provides seminars addressing business owners’ needs, including marketing, accounting, and human resources.
Technology
Helps make modern technology accessible and affordable for members.
Legislation
Monitors state and local legislation to ensure the needs of small and minority businesses are represented.
